Lets hope the order comes through as the confirmation said, $305.47 each, plus freight to my door of $61.
I went this way on the 5.7 stroker build simply because I want a new head with new parts, and figure after I sell the 5.7 cores, the deal can't be beat! The part numbers have been superseded.
53021608dd is rl021608dd
53021609dd is rl021609dd
:edit
Well Ma Mpoar got into our pants a little deeper with the latest price jump on the eagle heads.
The instant I posted this I got a call from the seller, Dodgeparts.com with the good news. The part number changed, and so did the price, plus there is an added core charge! I am waiting for the new order, to see the actual total. I was quoted an additional $590 total for them to my door. I have to OK the sale by Email, so I now have a chance to think about it a bit.

Those are reman numbers. What was the core charge and who did you order them from?

Dodgeparts.com So I am not getting new castings? Any chance of problems?I figured that I would be getting loaded heads.

No these are new parts, The RL signifies they are released to increase or establish a core bank.

The $590 also includes the added core charge, which I will have to pay.
My one concern; are the new part numbers bare castings, with valves, or fully loaded with everything?

They'll come fully assembled. I started with never used cores on my ported eagles. Left factory valves and only upgraded springs/shims/seals.

I just sent them a response, as needed to process the order with the new numbers. If they are loaded, I want them. If not, I may as well work with the early heads I have, and hope they are good when I pull them off to look.

I got my answer; they must come bare, as they cancelled the order like I asked if the castings are bare. Sooooooooooo, the early 5.7s will have to do, at least that is the plan.
This a a bit of a heart breaker, from 305 per for assembled heads, to $600 for bare castings (includes core charge)

Greg just called a dealer with the head in stock. It does have valves and springs. Complete head.

I checked out all the info given here, thanks for the info guys. The last word is, over $1200 for a new set of eagles now if you have no cores. What a bummer. So back to plan A, get my cores checked when I get home and see what it will cost to have them done up for what I need.

Heres a question do they put out reman part for all the core they replace due to waranty issues. Lets face it with the price of labour it cheaper to replace an entire engine instead of finding out what went wrong.
So the get a bunch of core engines, figure out what they can salvage and put it out as a Reman part # until exhausted.
If this is true then new heads shouln'd be coming down the line?

Sometimes new parts are sold as remans, some parts like torque converters for instance can't be purchased new, they are all remans.

But, the majority of the time you still have to find out what went wrong before you can replace an entire engine. Mopar has or at least had, a 70% rule. If it cost 70% of an assembly to repair, then you replace it.

I gave up with the R&D on Eagle heads. The stock intake air speed was too slow from the git go from a lazy intake port.

Talk with Travis and see what he'd charge you to weld up your 5.7 quench pads. I tig'd mine up myself and had Travis milled them down to make them a closed chambered head. With my simple hand port job and using 2.08"int/1.62"exh valves my port velocity was 345 fps vs 300 fps when using an Eagle head.

Here's an example of a ported 5.7 head with 2.05"/1.57" valves vs a ported 6.1 head with 2.08"/1.60" valves. Even though the ported 6.1 heads flowed higher #s on the bench, the dyno and track times proved different. Just saying

Thanks for the info

with you but would there be a benefit for the other G3 heads. I would assume as the CID increases, more air being pulled through the port, the bigger heads would work more efficiently.
It would be nice to know at what CID the eagle head would come into play.
I'm thinking anything over 430 cid.

Once again Thanks Jerry for all your help. Matt

Sorry guy's. That was the dyno sheet when testing the 5.7, 6.1 and XV intakes. Here's the ported 5.7 heads vs ported 6.1 heads spread sheet.
