I have a 2001 gas truck that I am wanting to put a chip or tuner on to gain some fuel mileage and or performance on. What is everyone using or what does anyone or someone recommend? Thanks in advance.

Can't really recommend one for you, but I can tell you the Hypertech is pretty useless. Had okay results with a Superchips on a second '01 I had.

Nothing. None of them work.

Neither will a "cold air" kit so don't waste your money there either.

Put the money towards dual exhaust, electric fan, and throw the catalytic convertor in the garbage.

Hard items and proven results (gained 1.5 mpg on my 360 Magnum truck anyway).

SCT. it DOES work.

the chips are junk, don't use them. or the stupid resistor tricks.

but Sean Powell aka "Hemifever" (www.hemifevertuning.com and hemifever@aol.com) can get you Hp gains over stock with nothing more than a custom tune. start adding bolt-ons like headers, intakes, etc and the power levels go up more.

he can also change shift points, rev limiters, speed limiters, etc.

now, as far as gaining MPGs, it's not very likely. you MAY see marginal gains, but only if you drive it like a granny on her sunday drive to nowhere.

He can tune 5.2, 5.9 on OBD-II computers, and he can tune 4.7s and the 3rd gen Hemi's (I think he may have issues with the 6.4 crate motors, but the 5.7 and 6.1 is in the capabilities of the software)

shoot him an email telling him you're interested in a tuner, and want to know more, I can pretty much guarantee that he'll respond to you within 3 hours, and more than likely within 1 hour. He has outstanding customer service.
