Well we somehow managed to win this passed weekend NHRA Div 7 race here in Las Vegas. Dont want to get into all the sorted details but lets just say the transmission has been out 7 times and rebuilt twice in the last two weeks. It still aint right but it stayed together and will be coming out and getting fixed, as well as the now screwed up converters. Both of which are noy WAY tighter than they were. After a trans failure in Phoenix and it just not working well at the MATS I wanted them cut open looked at and cleaned. I wanted nothing changed as far as stall as that is kind of important in this .90 stuff. Lets just say one lost 500rpm of stall anf the other lost 1400rpm!! Oh yeah the trans also is now making a god aweful squealing sound!!!! But hey it only cost me $1300 to have my converters screwed up and trans screaming at me...
Anyway we managed to find a way to dial the car. By taking 40 numbers out of the stop and ran the race dialing off on one pass in time trials with the new ste up. Got some luck in round two when the brake failed and managed to win the race.
I want to thank those who helped. First off Chris, Robbie, Billy and the gang for getting my stuff to Phoenix to be "fixed". Next to Darren Williams and Stu his buddy as well as Scott Allen for helping pull the trans and converter more than I care to remember(I think it was a total of 7 times). Also want to thank Curtis Garceau for comin out Saturday to lend a hand in elimination. He, Scott, Darren adn Stu along with my son did an awesome job cooling the car down as we had little time to get ready between rounds. Also my wife who puts up with me and lets me do this. She and my son had a big job this past weekend making sure I kept my cool and did not say or do something stupid, as I was a VERY frustrated customer.
In the end we brought home the Wally. A very frustrating two weeks that ended well. Now I gotta go pull it yet again to get the nice squealing sound fixed and will likely wait to ge tthe converters fixed til fall.
Just want to say thank you to a few folks.

Good job Al.................. Cab always told me this; If you race long enuff you WILL break things and it CAN get expensive so it unfortunately goes w/the job. Cudos to the crew like stated for hanging in there.

Congrats Al. It seems that when those everything seems to be going wrong days come around the best results happen. But it makes it so much more work...
