I know some of you guys have been racing longer than me and have some older!!!

While going thru some stuff i found lots of these and man did it take me down memory lane...Some of you young guns were just a dream back in the 70'S & 80'S...No auto win or start back then and sometimes you had to wonder as it was all hand written back in the day

Paris,Tx was my home track as it was only 45 min. away and you can see the progression...Also have some of different tracks i raced at quite often!!!

Mods leave here if possible as it is race related!!!

Yes Paris & Prescott had already gone from the 1320 to a 1000' track and now their 1/8TH mile tracks as both didn't have enough shut down as speed progressed...others were 1/4 mile tracks!!!

We have tons of time cars from PID,Ateco and at Mercer even little hand cut paper slips that are completely hand written.
We were talking the other day about Southern Illinois Dragway,Marion Illinois. They had two poles at the end of the track and two kids that would switch on either pole win light. They had a flag starter and he would set the spot if there was one but most was heads up class racing.

I remember those small pieces time slips about 1x2 with hand written times. !/4 mile ET and MPH , no reaction time. I also remember running on a track that had only one lane timing. Who ever got to the end first got the time slip

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I started racing in the mid-80s and have a few slips that were "hand written' with a device called the electro-writer. Anyone remember those?

Here is a few of my old ones I found from around 1979 and 1980. This was when I was bracket racing my old 66 Dart with a 340 four speed. Ron
