I've been shopping around for a rear bar to add to my wagon. I found this overview thread (for A/E bodies mostly but still useful): https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...rue#Post5695941

I came away liking Hellwig's mounting setup (one hole per side) and the price vs features ($220-ish for non-janky installation plus adjustability). However most folks seem to be running FFs or Addcos. Any experience using these bars on B-bodies or in general?

My opinion is pretty much the same.

The Helwig and Hotchkis are 3 way adjustable.

The Firm Feel is body hung but not adjustable. More involved installation usually.

Choose the features that are most important to you and fit your budget.

Addco's are cheap and have hokey frame mounts for end links, which can be an issue with rust belt cars and not getting the installation spot on adjusting the end link length.

I like the firm feel unit it has a wide spread and a good mounting location , had them on my 66 Charger the last 10 years, ...That being said...I'm bolting on a new rear hotchkis this week.

I went ahead and bought the Hellwig bar. I'll come back with some before-after comparisons (hopefully video if I can find my dang tripod) for everyone's benefit later this week

I've got the Helwig front & rear bars, not as polished as the Hotchkis stuff but functionally very similar... I wasn't thrilled with the silver veined powder coat (to bright) so I stripped them & powder coated them black... Should have them installed before my first long drive of the Spring....

Finally got the bar in. I made the mistake of starting just with step drills on hand - har har, you are not going to fit a drill inside of the frame rails if you have your mufflers hung ahead of your axle. Make sure you have a 15/32nds standard bit too so you can do everything from the outside.

Getting the inside and outside holes aligned was pretty easy - if you drill the first smaller hole and then slip a transfer punch into the support sleeve with the sleeve square against the frame rail, you'll be spot on for the inside hole. Getting the holes right for the endlinks is the trickiest part - everything else is pretty much bolt-n-go.

I've driven it through a fair number of different corners so far (all in the rain so far, and my 215 Coopers don't hold on too hard in the wet) and it makes a huuuge difference. I don't know how much the car rolls at higher speeds in the dry, but it stays absolutely modern-car flat with the way I've driven it so far in the wet. It tracks a bit easier down the road.

It really makes the car beg for a better steering box now, too. I've taken a couple of turns leaning in and hanging onto the wheel like I'm in the Indy 500 when it was still a dirt track and... yeah, this big thing needs a bit more heft in the tiller now.

I'll have to see what the car feels like it needs in terms of a front bar, but for my big butt wagon, the stock front bar may be just the right balance. I'm still aiming to get some exterior videos whenever it decides to stay dry for more than an hour here! Overall, easy install and a great buy.

Good news...
It is great when a modification or a part actually make a difference.

I am thinking of going with the just because of the size and price, with the 1.03 bars, it should handle better than my Kia...

Very belated, but here's a quick video. Doesn't look like much but you try making a 120 degree turn in your stock-suspended car at 30 mph and see what happens! Big difference.

I tried to avoid a couch that had fallen out of a truck at 35 mph with my stock suspension and I almost messed myself. I know first hand what you mean.
