I've been using Brad Penn 20W50 partial synthetic oil. I want to switch to Valvoline ZR1 10W30 racing oil. Will there be a problem with this change since the Brad Penn oil is partial synthetic ?

Why are you changing brands? I changed from VR1 20-50 to Brad Penn 20-50 and then switched to Brad Penn 10-30. I went from VR1 to Brad Penn for the higher zinc content as I run a solid cam. Our local speed shop charges 60 dollars per case for Brad Penn.

I have too much oil presure and was hoping the thinner oil would bring it down some. Ya I'm too lazy to drop the pan, steering link, pull right motor mount, and oil pump. The VR1 was $77 a case and Brad Penn is $88 per case ! I was just concerned about the partial synthetic thing in the BP oil compared to non synthetic in the ZR1, and if the Valvoline has enough zinc ?

All multi weight oils have some synthetic polymers in them Full synthetic lubricants have no petroleunm based crude stock in them Both work very well I have used Valvoline 5W20Wt in all of my HP stree motors for the last six years, all above 500 HP on Oregon pump swill. I use the same oil in the race motors also with race gas, 700 + HP and torque
