casting nubers in 6 pack manifold #141170

Does any know what the casting numbers on a 440 six pack manifold i have mean. the numbers are 2946216 and what looks like a date of 10 9 68 thanks

You have a Cast Iron 440+6 intake , casting # 2946276
with a 10.9.69 date code .(October 9, 1969).
This is correct for 1970 B,E and C bodies.

Yes you are correct, looked at the casting numbers agian and its 2946276 not 216 but the date is definately 10-9-68, is that not possible with those casting numbers? Did they not cast these in 68? thanks for your reply

I have seen the 10-9-68 date before (twice) on cast iron '70 440+6 intake manifolds. I've got pics somewhere.

Looked the first one over pretty well, didn't see anything that indicated early or pre-production. I'm thinking "liquid lunch" or simple mistake.
