That said, I don't believe it has the oil control capability of the road race pan.
With either of these (or any pan deeper than the stock 4 qt) I believe a K mounted skid plate is a good idea. My plate has done its job more than once... check and touch up of paint on the plate is regular winter maintenance due to scratches from spirited driving on less than perfect roads.
I thought the Milodon Road Race big block pan is stock height. Check Milodon's website. I have pictures of one installed, but I don't have a picture confirming the height relative to the K-member.
Milodon makes a repro Hemi pan and regular pan. They have heights listed on thier web site.
I know the Milodon Small Block road race pan is stock height. So you do not need a skid plate. It's tecnically 1/4" shorter because there is no drain plug dimple.

Here is what I did when using the BB RR pan on my Dart. Pan is to damn expensive to roll the dice on it being "safe".

mine hangs down about 3/4" lower than the K-Frame also. Hi Ron!

I'm not concerned with the skid plate as I have 1" deep skidplate on the K now, II'm presently running the Classic 8 Quart Milodon pan but with my new Suspension setup Id feel better with a pan that wasn't so close to the ground, I like the new Road race pan but can't justify the $400 + price tag with the new pickup.Rather put the extra cash to rear end parts Wondering what may be a better solution ? Look at it this way, that $400+ price tag on the oil pan may be saving you damage on a $5000+ engine.
By contrast, you can buy a bolt in super duty rear end for a couple grand.
But it all comes down to how you use your car and how hard you push it. 6500 rpm launches on slicks means the rear end upgrades may be better. Participation in autocross or open road events means the pan may be a better option.

Having a baffled oil pan for g-force control (cornering, acceleration, deceleration) is the single best insurance I ever made to my own engines... simply added horizontal baffles front, rear and sides around the sump of my stock pan... grossly eliminated loss of oil pressure throughout every competition pylon autocross run, as well as road course lapping events (some for competition hi-speed Solo events). I've had the modified stock pan on the car since the late 1970s and have never spun a bearing, etc. Its a shame that the factory stock pan never came with these simple baffles (speaking small block, on my behalf). Now, with the recent introduction of the Miloden road race pans, I will eventually step to purchasing one of them as I believe they really make an excellent product for us Mopars.
