My 71 Roadrunner project will need a dash pad. I have a mint green one from a donor car. Is there a dye process to change it to black that I would be happy with or should I plan on buying a reproduction?

There is no dye that will soak in like it does with cloth. There are flexible paints like the ones SEM makes. Many have used with nice results. I like the SEM landau black. I've done an entire interior with it, minus seats of course. It gives a very OEM type appearance.

I have used the SEM product also. Eastwood sells a 3 part kit with cleaner, adhesion promoter and dye. I've had good results with it.

If you want it to look good I would sell the green one and buy another.

Going black I would dye it for sure. The repops don't fit or look like an original pad.
