I'm looking at this truck on craigslist. Went and looked at it and all seems to be in good working order, no leaks, and drove nice enough. Has only 125,000, regular cab, and is willing to take $3800 for it. My question is do the 5.7 hemis have any known problems and what do you think of this gen of truck? Good deal or no?

Is there any way to adjust the gas pedal stiffness? This thing took quite a bit of pressure to move it and would like to loosen it up a bit. Thanks.

I thought the 2004 and newer hemi had the fly by wire throttle?? maybe the owner swap in mechanical linkage if so see if he has a too heavy of a spring on it...

From what I know it was supposed to. I'd be all for getting rid of that drive by wire junk on our '09.

Oh yeah - the 2003 hemi's had valve spring issues and dropped valves IIRC. Don't believe anything after 2003 had that problem.

Depending on what all the computer reads I would think someone could engineer a solution to make it a mechanical linkage. As long as the TPS on the gas pedal was still able to read and showed the PCM that it was going to whatever % of throttle position. I don't know if the PCM reads what the throttle actuator is at in % but if it does, it would need to be rigged up to where it would still function back and forth, it just wouldn't be able to move the throttle. To me, I would imagine that your delays with the DBW system would be virtually gone.

Make sure it doesnt have death wobble. That is a good price for the truck if it dont. I have an 03 and Id hate to have to let it go that cheap. Good luck.
