I am installing a 440 motor and a 727 transmission in the 65 Coronet.
It has a floor console. The original floor console had two cables to the transmission, one for shifting and one for park.I am assuming that I will be able to make this work with one cable.Where can I get the necessary cable and shift lever. Also what kind of kickdown cable is recommended? Also what kind of speedometer cable do I need?

What year is the trans you are installing? Imperial Services has a conversion so you can use a late model trans.I have never used one though.I read somewhere you can use 67 up cable with the later trans.

The transmission is a 1977 727.I just saw that cable from Imperial.I am wondering if that performs all the shift and park functions and what kind of kickdown cable and other accessories I may need.

I beleive it will just control shift function.I know Lokar makes a tp
cable that should work with your application.I believe 383man Ron has one on his car.

i think you can use the cable you have---but you will have to adjust it to go into park and you will lose the 1st gear spot----so you cant pull the lever all the way into 1st--lowest you will see is 2nd....bob

I used the imperial services on my wife 65 Coronet and a lokar kick down. That way you retain the original shifter
Easiest way to go.
The car has a 426 hemi /727 set up in it.

If its like my kids 62 300 you will need a speedo cable also.Steve at Imperial sent him one free. The early speedos had a different size head than later ones.He runs a late 727 from CRT with Hurst shifter.Rocky

Sent him one for free?
I never get free stuff!
Actually it was about $70.00 for mine from Imperial.
But he is right, you will need that also if you want your speedo to work.

We met Steve about 15 years ago.He gave my kid a set of poly mounts for the 62 and even gave him a poly trans mount to test. One mount looked like it was splitting so Steve gave him another one free.It wasnt split just mold seam.He gave me a poly trans mount for my 65 B body. then sold me a set of poly motor mounts for 50 bucks. He is one great guy once you meet him and talk to him a while.Rocky
