Thinking about adding a programmer for better fuel mileage (not really into hot-rodding it) since fuel is staying up these days and will probably go higher this summer.
Googling the subject gives me a headache trying to read all the he said-she said replies and search here was very productive as usual. I decided to ask here for real-world experience from folks I trust.
So what say you?

If you after mileage, I'd get something that advances the injection timing. I'm not really fond of the ones that raise the fuel pressure, Like the bullydog, edge ez or puck. This can lead to reliabilty issues with your injectors which are not that great to begin with. Id probably go with a Smarty.

I love my smarty on my 06 3500. Just did a 404 mile round trip on saturday and filled it up at the same pump as before, took 17.2gallons. Thats 23.5 mpg. That was with smarty on level5 on the way up, level3 on the way back. The meter on the truck said 21 on the way up and 24 on the way back.

I've had very few problems with the Superchips one installed on mine, I did have it lock up on download from towing to stock. had to pull both fuses for the ECU and then start over but all. Summertime running I am at 23-24mph now with off and on running in 4wd I am at 17-18 running at stock settings.

Any other opinions on this? I've got an '07 (built late '06) 2500 2wd with 3.73's that doesn't get the mileage that my '95 did. Smarty Jr?
