Does the 98 have a 12 or 24 valve engine?

Duh I really hate it when I'm as dumb as I look. Should have put that in my post. Forgot that later 98's switched from 12 valve. Thanks for the reply. Truck is a 12 valve. Main reason I even looked at the truck is that I have a 97 with 26xk miles that I love. Combined with clean condition I thought that I should at least consider it.

I'd go for it. Worst case you have to replace the engine and I think you'd still be okay on it. Around here it's easy to find an engine because they outlast the bodies.
