My 20ft Pace came with the 205-75-15 tires which are terribly small. Has anyone changed tire sizes without problem on these trailers. Some trailers have the 225-75-15 size. Is it possible to upgrade from the 205 to the 225 tire without problems?? Wheelwell is small worried about rubbing.

If bigger tires fit, get them. Hopefully bigger tires were optional on your trailer and there were allowances made for them. Just gotta measure. But either way, go up on the load range. I'll guess that yours are "Load Range C". See if you can find a size that fits in "D" or "E". My philosophy is always get more than what you need in tires/load capacity. But stay away from Carlisle unless they've made major improvements in the last few years.

Not sure if a wider rim than what you have is recommended for bigger tires. You don't want to have a narrow footprint.

I put either 215x75x15 or 225x75x145 E rated trailer tires on my 7000 GVW Pace 22 ft trailer years ago. I ended up selling it and bought a 10,000 GVW 24 Ft Pace Shadow with the six lug 5200 lb rated axles I wish that I had bought one with the eight lug axles 7000 lb rated axles and 16 inch rims Next time

See if you can find a trailer sales that has the 225's that will let you see if they fit or they may know if they will work. i know I can't put any bigger tire on my trailer, also , most 225 tires have 6 bolt wheels, are yours ? The higher the ply rating the better the rims , it's not recommended to put 10 ply rated tire on a 6 ply rated rim.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

225's typically take a wider rim vs 205's. Suggest you check that in addition to fit. 205's are available in 8 ply rating... if you have 6 ply now 8 ply would be a nice upgrade.

Wow, that's the size tires I have on my open car hauler, I didn't think they would use that small of a size tire on a enclosed trailer even though it's only 20' long.

I bet you could use a 24' trailer? might be time to upgrade.

Otherwise if your tires are 6 ply then 8 ply would be better I guess? Good luck.

3.5K axles come with 205's, 5K axles come with 225's. I upgraded my open trailer to D rating 205's and run D rating 225's on my 24' enclosed. I wish I had room to run the E rated 16's though.

Here is where I get mine:
