I was looking at running a 275 E.T. Street Radial on my car this year but not sure if I can run them on my 12" wheels. I have seen guys do it with bead locks but not sure about with no bead locks.

12 is way to wide. I'd think 10 would be about it

Yeah I posted it on the bullet to. People go up to 13" wheel it looks like but only with double bead locks. I had read on there befor people had been doing it but it doesnt look like it is to safe without the double bead locks.

I've used the MT ET Street Radials 315x60x15 on both 10 and 12 inch rims, no problems on either Not bead locks, no rim screws, no tubes If you have the rims, I would try them

There's a pretty big difference between a 275 and a 315.

(that's what she said) LOL

Hey have you been working on your car then this winter? We should get together sometime and have a few beers when I'm home this winter.

to each his own I think it looks silly when the rim is wider than the tire, but then again I don't like 18-20" rims on old muscle cars either.

Maybe I'm different but I go by what the manufacturer
says... they have more time at this... sure maybe it
wont come off the rim.... JMO

what would be the advantage of a 12" rim vs. a 10" seems to me you'd have less side wall on the 12's.

Need beadlocks to run it on a 12.

One day I will have something cool here.

like any tire, you will get a wider contact patch

if the tread width of a tire is 10.5, as is a 275/60/15 how would a 12" help? I under stand if you were going from an 8" rim to a 10. I would seeem to me you'd lose the "wrinkle wall" effect. Are you saying buy placing the tire on a wider rim you can make the tread width 12"??? I don't see how that is possible. I run a 9" rim and 275's, my contact patch is pretty much all of the tread width.

Maybe some of you didnt read the whole thread. I HAVE 12" WHEELS. IM NOT BUYING DIFFERENT WHEELS. If I have to run a bigger tire I will. Not that big of deal. I see alot of the 275 tire guys run 12" wheels for a wider contact patch. I didnt ask how it looked. I asked if you can do it. Thanks
