Hi, I have a 4 core Champion radiator from one of the Moparts member. It was reasonable and so far in the garage I have run my 512 and it cycles between 170-190 I know he has a post on several of our for sale categories.

ask one of you repairshop friends to price out an aluminum replacement for your unit---my son got me one for my diesel and his cost was $150---and then i found a ram at the pickapart with the aluminum replacement and got it for $30 and put it in my 64---for the best (cheap) mailorder stuff go to SPEEDWAY--they service the circle track guys and are the most competitive in price---you will have to make your own brackets but it will be at least 1/2 the price of the previous recommendations.....bob

I have ran Speedway's radiators on 3 previous vehicles with no problems. I am going to use one on my 84 with a 44oh.
They come without mounting provisions.
I guess I'm lucky having access to tig and spoolgun welders...and a machine shop.....

BTW, an aluminum radiator will cool no more than a normal radiator, the only difference is weight.

the mounting tabs can be made without a welder--a bolt on bracket with a rubber grommet works good---think chevy----but dont say it out loud....bob

when I put the 505 hp 383 stroker in my 98 Dakota, I used the stock original radiator that came in the truck.

first thermostat was getting pushed open by the water pump, truck would never get up over 165.

second thermostat and it would run between the fan off/on temps in town, and maintained the t-stat rating on the highway.

even in mid to upper 90 degree weather in town.

So let me get this correct,

You spent good money on a GREAT engine, but you dont want to spend a lot on a cooling system?

They go hand in hand, Sorry but its true....

And I have a large 3 core aluminum radiator in my Ramcharger with a big block,

Its a champion as well. I paid like 300ish for it IIRC

300 for a 3 core isnt bad! im just not wanting to spend 600-700 for the griffins or becools i just cant see them being a whole lot beter than a smaller name company.

if it works...why spend money when you don't have to?
