A customer of mine found a local guy with a bunch of sb parts for sale cheap...BA heads, 360 short block we machined about 12 years ago, comp XR268HR cam, Crane hyd. roller lifters, airgap, 770 street avenger and hooker 1 3/4 headers. I had to lower the compression by opening up the chambers, but other than that the heads were untouched from Brodix. Compression was 10:1. I had to really work at clearancing the heads for the pushrods though!! Rockers were 1.6 ratio.
For comparison, our RHS headed 360 with a 275HL hyd. cam, same compression, same intake, 750DP, and TTI headers made 430HP and cost much less.

Nice motor, Brian (and great info as always, my friend!) Even though the Brodix heads were unported and the cam is comparatively small, would you think the AG manifold and 770 carb would be holding back the top-end potential? At least a bit? I would think that unported the Brodix would flow at least comparable to a basic VJ/blended econo W2, but probably not much better really than a set of mildly worked edelbrocks.

From Brodix with a 2.080 Intake they claim the following:
.200 129 .300 180 .400 221 .500 249 .600 263 .650 267 .700 269
Sorta weak down low compared to an Edelbrock or W2, pulls ahead up top but this motor obviously wont utilize that.
My heads are the MC version and were already ported when I got them. They fall below the numbers brodix advertises but there may be some more left in them. I agree if starting from scratch there are better heads available, but sometimes the deal makes it worthwhile.

I wish I would have had the time to check them on the bench. I'm sure the chamber porting I did picked them up 10-15 cfm up to .500 lift.
My customer added up everything when he picked it up and said he had 6400.00 in the build including carb to pan and headers plus everything we did and dyno testing. I think he got more than his moneys worth considering the cost of the heads new and they were new.
Cam was only thing holding this combo back IMO..
