wow, that is impressive! my 540 with a mild roller cam, stage V heads and intake, 650 eddy carbs did 712 at 6000. (although that was at 34 degrees, and it was consistently making 5 more hp for each 100 rpm at 32 degrees, so without documentation but a reasonable amount of surety i can say 717 ). i'd like to know the cam specs too. 4.25 X 4.5? 7.1 inch rods? what is the CR?

This one was 4.375 bore, 4.5 eagle crank, eagle 7.1 rods, 11.1 compression CP piston, solid cam with high 270s intake and low 280s exhaust on 110. indy 1.6 rockers with .649/.595 lift. The manifold was a pain for tuning on this size engine, would have made more with a better intake for this size engine. He will have his hands full with this in a street car for sure, thanks Pete
interesting differences. mine is roughly 10.25:1, 248 and .604 intake, 255 and .582 exhaust, 112. so there is a bit more cam there, especially the duration on both. and mine is 4.25 X 4.5 with 7.1 rods.
never thought about going that route with the bore and stroke though, would have been nice to have some extra cylinder wall thickness in case it was needed later.
damn nice engine though!
