Here is a pump gas 540 Hemi we did for a local customer for street use. Flat tappet cam, Indy SR heads, no porting, factory cross ram and carbs. Used a new Mopar Performance iron block also.

771 with that TQ curve, with unported heads and a flat cam on pump.

Very nice.

That thing is going to be FUN.

WOW, pump gas, flat tappet, 540, crossram, 771 HP. I'm impressed. What kind of cam do you use in the thing?

wow, that is impressive! my 540 with a mild roller cam, stage V heads and intake, 650 eddy carbs did 712 at 6000. (although that was at 34 degrees, and it was consistently making 5 more hp for each 100 rpm at 32 degrees, so without documentation but a reasonable amount of surety i can say 717 ).

i'd like to know the cam specs too.

4.25 X 4.5? 7.1 inch rods? what is the CR?

This one was 4.375 bore, 4.5 eagle crank, eagle 7.1 rods, 11.1 compression CP piston, solid cam with high 270s intake and low 280s exhaust on 110. indy 1.6 rockers with .649/.595 lift. The manifold was a pain for tuning on this size engine, would have made more with a better intake for this size engine. He will have his hands full with this in a street car for sure, thanks Pete

That seems like a lot of cam duration for that intake manifold and CR. But with 540 CID, it has enough torque to give some up at street 3000 rpm to get the higher hp peak rpm numbers.

I agree the intake is killing it, but I guess the customer wanted that factory look rather then the best performance. With 114 CID more than a factory 426 Hemi, it should be a fun driver.
I would like to find out what ET/weight it runs.

interesting differences. mine is roughly 10.25:1, 248 and .604 intake, 255 and .582 exhaust, 112. so there is a bit more cam there, especially the duration on both. and mine is 4.25 X 4.5 with 7.1 rods.

never thought about going that route with the bore and stroke though, would have been nice to have some extra cylinder wall thickness in case it was needed later.

damn nice engine though!

Just based solely on the dyno sheet alone, would you shift at 6000 or 5900 RPM's to achieve optimal et ?

I am very encouraged to see these numbers. Mine has the same bore and stroke. 10 to 1 compression. Indy 426-1 Legend heads. Indy roller rockers. Megablock. Mopar Performance Crossram. Solid Roller Cam. Can't remember the specs on the cam though. 7.1 rods. This is going to be a lot of fun.
