Have a set of stainless headers, but the pipe on cylinder 5 is too close to the wire boot. I have a set of firecore 50 wires and it burned through the boot. Also had a set of heat sleeves on them too, but still got through enough to melt the boot. Thoughts? Would ceramic coating the headers reduce it enough to reduce the temps?

I don' think the cermanic coating is going to help. Do you have a straight boot? If so, you may be able to bend the insert inside the boot to clear the header. Firecore will likely fix the wire or put a different boot on it if you send it back to him.

Buy a short roll of header wrap, wrap three or four times, or as many as you can around the tube in that area depending on the thickness. Metal zip ties on the end. Should do the trick.

First set of headers I had on my challenger literally had my Taylor wires sitting on the tube. Did something similar using a welders pad (ceramic wool material I think) and never had an issue.

Was using a straight boot, but I think we are going to send them to get converted to 45's and go under the headers, if that fails then go to a wrap I guess.

Running a R3 with W9 heads. That is what we were thinking of doing for a few tubes, but the back two are really tight.

Hello. If course we can fix the wire/boot. Can you please take a pic of the problem boot on the spark plug? I may have something else as far as boots to help. Thank you.

Thats a stand up guy right there and on a side note, there are good and bad insulators. 1 single good one can cost around 15 bucks or more, but they don't let the wire or boot melt. They dont even dis color. For the most part, I go under anytime I can do it. Makes for a cleaner look.

Will do, Chris at Performance Injection might be working with you already. I will talk to him and go from there.
