... picked up a set of Isky 9005 springs
I run Isky valve springs on my race, flat tappet, solid lifter engine. I think they are good. My Indy 440-1 heads have the Isky 9005 springs setup at 1.95" (150 lbs) and my cam is 0.693" lift with 1.6 rockers.
Runs 9.20's at 3250 lbs. So I am happy.

I think I'll be pretty happy with them. The machine shop wants to use different keepers because at approximately 1.9" installed height they are showing like 180lbs closed and 420lbs open. When the speed shop checked them they were showing 160lbs closed and 360lbs open at my installed height. A slight issue but assuming the the rockers don't hit the retainers I'm ok with using different keepers to get it in range. Then I can swap keepers mid season to get back to where I want to be before they wore in Lol. The speed shop was probably using a mechanical compressor compared to the computerized one at the machine shop. Kind of hard to say which one I trust. Anybody have input on the numbers I should be seeing with these springs? The cam is a MP 557 FWIW.

I have HORRIBLE memory but I want to say mine are at 1.915. Should they be at 180lbs given that difference?

Be very careful on the open pressures, check all the retainers lift, ALL 16 OF THEM Then check all the valve springs pressures at those lifts I've got a used set of 440-1 aluminum race heads in my shop now that have a set of 1.64 diameter roller cam springs and titainium retainers, the inner dampener is eating through the titainium retainers The person who asembled the heads set the valve springs up at the same hieght, not by pressure, something is really FUBAR on thses heads The spring pressures vary from 220 to 250 lbs on the seats of the four I have checked so far, 680 lbs at .700 to 750 lbs at .700 and they vary from .010 to .100 from coil bind at .700 lift I can fixed them, I have a wonderful set of tools I have PAC springs phone number
