with a tall deck I had to have a couple of the tubes modified to clear t bars and the collectors were pie cut some also to get the exhaust close to the body. after mods and powdercoating I have about $1350 into the headers.

I bought my Pro Parts headers from Bob Mazzolini, but that was like 12 years ago. Call him and see if he stil sells them.

Be advised that the Pro Parts headers for an B/RB in an A body were designed incorrectly... Each tube was a different length, some were as short as 29" and the longest 54", on the dyno they were 40 HP short... For fit they are OK, but their performance sucks.. These were originally sold by Bill Bagshaw's Pro Parts distributor. Before putting out the $ you might want to check things out more closely.. Maybe they have been redesigned.. Note that Bob Mazzolini is a great guy, we are actually by his place in Riverside CA frequently. Just my $0.02...

Would these be the same headers that CPPA sold back in the late 80's?? At least that is who I bought a set from, as I recall. The ones on the car right now, dont like the angled plugs on #6.
I don't believe so. If I recall, the CPPA were completely welded, one piece units that were a HUGE pain to install and tight all around. The Pro Parts headders have a bunch of slip tubes (like a puzzle) and have much better clearance around plugs and the starter. These also have one tube that exits out the fenderwell and then reconnects to the collector on the inside of the frame rail.

These are in pieces, slip on collectors where one tube,#8, goes out thru the passenger side fenderwell and 2 tubes, # 3 & 5, go out thru the drivers side fenderwell. They are easy to get on and off, but hug the trans really close. Not sure why they angled them towards the center of the car like they did. But they hug the engine and dont hang down.

The Headman and Hooker full fenderwell headers are best at equal length and gentle bends, but bye bye inner fenderwells, and they tend to crack with those tubes hanging out so far from the engine block.

No.. But as I posted header lengths are all over the place.. On the dyno, we were running one of our race 440s and the HP was down big-time.. Swapped out the Pro Parts headers and up came the HP. They look nice and have a decent fit, unless they have been redesigned stay clear..

Sixpackgut, what size tire can you run with the Headmans? Any more tire clearance over the Hookers?
I had both sizes of the Hooker Fenderwells, 1 7/8 and the 2 inch,on my 1971 duster, went to the Hedman A body Indy head fenderwell headers and got a lot more tire clearances with them I was running two different sizes front tires, 165/SR15 and 26x15 M/T ET Fronts, both would rub on the Hookers pretty bad, after putting the Hedamns on and rasing the front end up about one inch I could run the Moroso 7.10x15 on the front (after having to trim the stock Duster front fender wheel openings to clear them)

I'm with sixpackgut, it's Hedmans for me IMO the best off the shelf header for power AND durability in a big block A Body
Went through 2 sets of Hookers and all cracked at the flange
The best would be a custom set (length and dia), but for an off the shelf 500 CID A-body, I like the Hedman fenderwell headers too.
And the Hooker 2" fenderwell headers are worse than the ProParts for that application.
