I am using a fluidampr damper and the factory crank bolt is too short. Do just get a longer one? I did not see any being sold with the damper. Thanks.

Is the long bolt too short, or is the short bolt too short? The long crank bolt usually works with all of the thicker aftermarket dampers. I don't think I've ever needed one longer than the standard long bolt.

I have the factory 1.25" bolt which is too short. The damper is on as far as I can get it (tapping it on). From what I see out there, the 2.25" seems like the one to get..?

Did you heatup the damper in boiling water befor installing it?
I have used a longer bolt to get it started then switch them to finish, torque.your hub may be to tight on the crank also and you may need it sized.Have you ever used this damper?

is this damper new? if is, better check the crank dia & the inside dia of the damper. u only need a few thou interference fit. if it's too tight u will have a really hard time getting it off. never tap it on either. use the proper install tool. it probably needs honed.

The long bolt will work. You need to buy a damper install tool ( Moroso make a good one ).

When you get it on all the way there is only going to be 1/8" from the front of the crank to the damper front.
