I have a set of tubular upper control arms made by Cap Auto that I purchased before they were bought out by QA1. Has anyone had any experience with this product? I have heard some negative feedback on their stuff and I am thinking that before risk tearing up my 73 Cuda maybe a better route would be a set of Firm Feel or MagnumForce arms. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Our cars are the fastest around the country. Our quality and support is second to none. Remember when shopping for suspension parts, you get what you pay for.

I can't vouch for anybody (except RMS), but Magnum Force has never had a good reputation (and my one attempt at dealing with them was very unsatisfactory). One has to respect Hotchkis for getting out there and thrashing their products...

Do the arms have gussets supporting the tube where it mates with the ball joint housing? There was a member here on Moparts several years ago that was running the CAP arms and luckily he was going fairly slow when one of them failed right at where the tube meets the ball joint housing. I would make that mod myself or better yet toss those, chalk it up to experience and either go with the Hotchkis or or Firm Feel arms.

I can vouch for magnum force upper control arms. I've had 2 cars with them and they worked awesome! I plan on installing 2 more on my other projects when the time comes. They did have some problems in the late past, but have went to better customer service 2-3 years ago and do try to work with customers. I can stay I've seen a control arm of theirs fail in a long time and they have good parts and decent prices compared to others. How many companies offer 3 diffrent tubular control arms per model depending on vehicle needs? I might be a little biased as I been buying from theym for the last 15 years and never had a problem or parts failure. When the time comes for a full front suspension upgrade, Magnum Force will be what I will go with, while I am using hotchkis rear leaf springs on my cars.

As for CAP products, I saw those at MATS a few years back and was not impressed and a certified welder that was with us said the work on the arms was so-so and did not look like something you would use on a street car.

Especially when it comes to suspension & brakes, a company confident enough to thrash their parts in public - successfully - is most likely building a good product.

I probably bought the last set of upper arms from Cap as they were selling out to QA-1. They welded extra gussets to the balljoint holder and they are holding up fine after a few hundred wheelstands.
Here is a vid of the punishment we put them through. Its alittle dark til I hit the loud pedal.

I should have included that the balljoint in the Cap arm was garbage after 2 months of wheelstands( 50 passes) and now I run the QA1 balljoints and they are holding up great after 1 1/2 years of beating on em.
