Would any of you gents know what material to use for repacking a race muffler for a motor bike?The muffler in question is a Muzzy.

It's just fiberglass strands....wrapped in plastic....the plastic is used to keep the strands in place while you pack the muffler and burns off instantly....Muzzy sells repacking kits.

Mineral wool/ rock wool insulation lasts longer. It doesn't burn out as quickly.

Stupid me, I have some ceramic fiber that's used for wrapping the smelting kettles in foundries and is good for 3000 degrees.

HMF Hanz muffler fabrication here in Cleveland Ohio sells the ceramic fiber,Give him a call.I think a 2sq.ft matt is 20$ if you dont use what you have.
