Hi guys!

Please help me come up with a baseline setup for my 4160 carbs.

They are going on a:

-528 CID HEMI (4,5" bore 4,15" stroke)
-10.5:1 CR
-CNC ported MP Cyl Heads by Modern Cyl Head
tested @ 28" 4.315" bore size
2.25" intake valve
1.94" exh valve

intake exh
0.100 74.9 68.1
0.200 157.2 133.3
0.300 249.8 198
0.400 323.7 239.5
0.500 385.8 271.7
0.600 418.2 265.9
0.700 430.8 254.4
0.800 430.8 249.8
0.900 428.1 244.7
1.000 429.9 241.5

-2,25" headers
-open exhaust
-Stage V RAT BUSTER dual inline intake Manifold
-Dual 4160 Holley 750 cfm carbs

-Comp Cams Xtreme Street SOLID Roller Cam
Intake- 248@.050 & .604lift
>Exhaust- 254@.050 & .591lift
>Lobe sep is 114
>lobe #`s: 4875B/4876B sn#-A6105

I am going thrugh my carbs (I got em used) and this is what Ive found so far:

-They have a proform primary Billet Metering plate.
-They have a Quick Fuel Seciondary Plate that allows me to Have screw in Jets
-I found NO check balls on the Vacuum Secondary Diaphragms
- The Springs on the Vacuum Secondary Diaphragms are RED
-I have a 4 port window 105 power valve
-Primary Jets are 72
-Secondary Jets are 80
-Accelerator Pump Discharge Nozzles are 31
-I have the low Profile Accelerator Pumps I guess they are 30cc
-I have the orange Pump Cams set on hole #1

One thing that caught my eye is that when I took the Proform Primary Metering PLate out one of the emulsion holes on each side is plugged (see pic)

Any suggestions on how to set em up/what to change for my engine?

This is going in my race car.

Remove said intake and carbs and replace with Barton single plane intake and Prosystems carb...Also, carbs are too small. I ran 750's on my 431 Hemi and they were too small.

John Arruzza probably has the most experience with that intake. Call him at 919-918-7584.

For what it's worth, that intake is mostly a repop of the old KB/Chrysler marine intake. The Holley carbs for it were (I think) 4127 & 4128. Holley may not have made carbs with that number but modifieds 3116's to that number. Good luck. Remember you don't open them in stages like a street hemi. Open them both together.

Nope!!!!

My engine was never Dynoed. I ran out of $$$

I bought the carbs after....used. Thats how the previous owner had them set up. I remember I asked him about his engine, but I lost the email.

Jetting is good for initial start up.Depending on the fuel and air bleeds in the emulsion wells or channels you may not have to use bigger jets.If your experience a surgeing at idle you may want to remove the power valve and up the front jetting 4 to 5 sizes. As for now try it the way it is.Let us know how things work and we will advise you furthur.

Or put a lower range powe valve???

105 power valve seems like its pretty high, it will begin to open at 10.5 in.Hg or lower.

I wonder if my cam will make that much manifold vacuum at idle....

Oh well....

Ill just bolt em on like that and I will find out. I will let u guys know.

Thanks!!!

on the manifold itself, it is much more than a remake of the old chrysler marine manifold.

there is little doubt that better performance can be had with a good single plane and a well tuned carb, but if you want the look of the dual inline 4, then this is the best manifold out there.

tim banning at FHO was seeing 40 hp gains using this manifold over anything else. i wouldn't doubt that there are some perfectly tuned older manifolds out there that could match it, but those are all one offs, so unless you either have one or have access to one, this is the way to go.

That intake as cast with minor port cleanup will make 850 HP. It is way more than a recast of the old Kb Marine intake. I have 528 hemis with that intake and ootb Eddie 800 avs carbs with basic tuning cracking 850 on the right motor which you sound like you have for the most part.
Advice. 800 AVS and never look back.

that's interesting. have you ever done any comparisons? i have the 650's on mine. just did 712HP at 6k. the engine is a 540, with stage V heads.

do you think the 800's will make that much difference?
