Push rods showed up today as well as the rest of the gaskets...Forgot to get lash caps and break in oil though...

Should be back in the car soon. Didn't hurt it too bad. And it now has Cometic head gaskets and we decked the heads a few thou. It also has a bigger pan and standard volume pump, but high pressure. Should really run nice this year.

Glad to see you're about done with the rebuild. Hope everything works as expected. Dave

What kind of timing cover is that?

Actually I totalled my diesel the day I picked up the freshly turned crank after the rod bearing failure, and thought it was toast, but it was ok and we put it in...But this time, this engine is going to be hitting the stripe for a while. Should be very easy on parts and the car already went 6.9 with it in testing last year.

Fully machined billet with removable cam cover and lower crank seal cover. Super nice, and tough to come by. I got it off a member on here. I was going to put the Milidon gear drive on it, but I had the billet roller chain already.

We built this motor milder than my previous roller cammed injected tunnel rammed version for valve train life and to be legal in the Gasser class. It ate parts big time with the roller cam I had in it before. Then we made it milder, and had some teething issues by the second outing that I had to pull it and go thru it again. Ate a rod bearing do to oil starvation, developed water in the oil do to World Products drilling into the water jackets from the head deck, and we did not like the pattern from the head gaskets so we decked the heads and went to Cometics.

On a side note, my 408 W2 motor is all done as a back up and already sitting at home next to my spare fully built 727...So we have spares this year.

Im not sure if its a problem with the mopars but alot of people spray the Cometics with cooper spray to keep from having coolant leaks. the turbo buicks were having alot of problems with them leaking. On a side note the engine looks great and hopefully its problem free for you this year.

Well the instructions stated not to spray them. We still rtv'd the water passeges....Tough to break old habits.

That's sexy as hell!

Hope it lasts a little longer this time.
