My 66 Charger has a bad water leak under the dash and I see water drops on the front of the center console. I am assuming it needs wiper post seals but want to know if anyone has found any other water leak area that I may need to address. I recently had a Classic A/C system added to the car and wonder if this may have anything to do with it..

Who sells the wiper post seals?

If the cowl is leaking, the wiper seals may not be the problem or at least your only problem.

If you are sure, it's water (not antifreeze), then it could be condensation from the AC box if it's not properly sealed/drained but more likely, you have had some of the seam sealer come out of the joint between the firewall and cowl allowing water to leak in.

Does this water appear after a rain storm, or just from driving, after A/C?

I would take a good look inside the cowl area (pull the vents) and feel around if any of the seam sealer has dryed up and cracked out. You may just need to reapply some new seam sealer to seal it up good again!

Try looking up Detrout Muscle Technologies (DMT). They sell a lot of these random gaskets for Mopars. I have dealt with them and had a very good experience.

If they don't have yoru gasket yet, you may be able to mail them yours and they will send you a repro! They helped me out on one of those.

The nature of the water and the situation under which the leak appears will tell you the source.

a. The A/C evaporator produces an astounding amount of condensation when in use, and doubly so in high humidity climates. A plugged or improperly installed drain system will leave all this water inside the cabin. Does the water appear when you are running the A/C? Does it go away after the passage of time without running the A/C?

b. The wiper seals are going to leak when it's raining or when you wash your car. Can you induce the leak by hosing off the windshield?

c. One must assume that you are sophisticated enough to recognize the difference between clear water and the contents of your cooling system. If it looks and tastes like coolant, you need a heater core.

Down to just a blue car now.

It is when it rains, not A/C condensation and not antifreeze.

Wiper seals are a common source of leaks on these cars, but bad windshield gaskets or rust in the windshield channel can be also.

Also plenty of mystery leaks around insulation-pad plastic "nails". If you remove the insulation, you'll see a telltale rust line.

We took the glove box liner out yesterday and ran water over the wiper post and could see no leak. Then over the base of the windshield and we found water dripping on the passenger side far right behind where the A/C block off for the fresh air vent. However it did not leak directly down on the center console as it did when it rained. I have chased water leaks before and they are a [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] because water takes the path of least resistance and can run along wires or other things before they begin to drip and can drip along the way traveling to its final destination. I have an idea that the leak is in the windshield.
