Anybody have any combinations for a big block with 572-13 heads and an 8-71 blower, mechanical fuel injected?

We have built a lot of those exact engines for truck pullers. Give me a call tomorrow.

I have a Mega block, the 572-13 heads, a Mallory III mag., blower and which injection unit is undecided as yet. Looking for a reliable build that doesn't have to be on Kill all the time to run.

We started out with a supermag. What is your plans for blower, drive ratio, fuel system etc. Our build was for a very specific class with some very weird rules. The littlefeild blower we had was new from littlefeild. It was standard helix with a parker bottom and 9.5" top.It would make 14-15lbs of boost @8000rpm's. Bird hat w/ 80a pump. Fuel only injected thru hat no port nozzles (class rules). This one thing that I will warn you of we had alot of trouble withthe front cyls running hot and the back dead cold. Jetting if I remember right was 68's in the front and 29's in the back with very little heat in the back. We found that if you turn the manifold backwards it helped We couldn't run a set back deal. It's not real hard to do.If you have any more questions I would be glad to talk to you and try to help.PM me your number. Good luck

you should have run different compression ratios in the different cylinders

The compresion was 8.4 to 1.Class rule was 8.5. we didn't want to give up to much because we had to run heads up against better brand X heads. We don't have anywhere near as much split in jetting in my BAE motor but that is a completely different deal.

Indy intake, will run port nozzles for main fuel, hat just mainly for cooling the blower. Up in the air for injector, Enderly hat is most popular, but a Hilborn 4-port or a Crower 8-port, or even a pair of Ron's Terminators with a scoop would work. I ran a pair of Ron's 4-Shooters on a tunnel ram years ago and they worked great.

So, is everybody running a blower on a Wedge engine pullers? No drag racers? Is it that much different from a hemi application?

Hey Larry,
Isn't John Umlauf from up in your part of the country? He's run some 6.90's with a 451 with either 440-1's or 572's in his front-motored dragster. Larry Grenko has run some high 7's with the "Moparius Maximus" full-bodied '63, think they're both running conventional 8-71's with no setback. This is just what your altered needs, jump on in, the water's fine, gimme a call........

Here’s a mild 505 with -1's on a 74 400 block. this just came off my dyno, he was having "fuel" issues with just putting it all into the hat. Added port nozzles and now all cylinders are happy. I think he’s running 4% over, like I said a mild 1250hp setup that he drives to and from the lanes.
