Don't laugh....

What are you using to pop off dog dish or poverty caps that does not damage the wheel paint/powdercoat??

Thanks!

Thin 1" wide aluminum strip with the end bent into a hook and covered with duct tape.

I use a drum brake adjustment tool wrapped in electrical tape so it doesn't scratch the paint.

I use this,

http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/pry-bars/15-1-2-half-inch-flat-pry-bar-2529.html

it fits behind the edge and also puts a wide contact area on both the cap and the rim. for added protection you'd want to use a piece of cloth to save the paint

Factory jack handle works amazingly well, just be ready to catch it when it comes flying...

I use this little gem from Ken-Tool Part # 31566

Works flawlessly! just hook it behind the cap & pull. No prying on your nicey-nice painted wheels. Just be sure to catch the cap with your free hand to avoid dings....

Many times I can just pull em off by hand though.

If I had them I'd by a harbor freight pry bar and plasti dip the end.

But I don't, so I won't.

I’m listening.

me too.... wrapped in a rag.

Used to use a claw hammer wrapped in a rag, but it would contact the rim. The tool shown above does not.

I always use the little z shaped misc screw driver with a 90 end on both ends, one phillips & one regular on the other end that comes in with most of the Craftsmen screw driver sets. Just hook the flat end & pull. Don't have to pry & it doesn't scratch the rim.

I use a hubcap removal tool. I'll post a pic later. It looks like a cross between a screwdriver/pry bar/rubber mallet

One of the most useful tools I ever bought, a hub cap hammer. You can always use a rag with it to prevent marking your wheels. Great seal remover too!
