Putting together a 69 A12 Bee. I have 2 nice original headlight shields and the rubber pieces to them from DMT. There are 2 screw holes in each to mount them behind the headlight bucket. For the life of me I cant figure out how they mount. Does anyone have a pic of the inner fender of one thats mounted to show me?? Heres what I have..

I'd just contact him on here. It is his "side job", but I'm sure he'll see it if you pm him. "71TA" is his handle on here.

Haven't been on here in a while. I'm sneaking a peek between whip cracks here at my day job.

68/69 RR's have the plastic piece at the top. Looks like you may have found this info already. I just googled images and found the pic from the other site.

No one makes this piece either (that I know of).

EDIT: Duh, yours is a SuperBee. Probably have the same kinda piece. I'll check on my end.

Heres a cropped picture from Ebay. 68-69 Cornets have a metal plate in that area. THEN the L part of my rubber splash shield clips to the holes in that metal plate.

the metal shield should have a tab. A screw goes through that into the fender and sticks out on the engine compartment side, which is covered by a black wire nut. I cant remember but I think there is also a screw that goes into the back of the headlight panel too.
Your fenders may or may not have the hole for that screw present. My NOS fenders did not have them.
When I get home I'll look for my pics.
* the red circle on the fender should be forward more. You get the idea.

And here:

Awesome.. Thanks It looks like I have the hole for the screw along the botton of the plate. But my fender is not drilled to poke through and end up in the engine bay. Question is: Do I try to drill that hole and risk chipping paint that would show on the inner fender well. Or drill another one under the rubber seal along the bottom of the plate for support? I can hide it pretty well under the vertical rubber piece.

I would drill it with a small enough, sharp bit. In the engine compartment the screw and hole should be covered by a black plastic nut. Looks like an eletrical wire nut. Find them under the hood of any 69 coronet(not sure about other years) in the bone yard.

I have not tried this yet myself, but I think it was Stacy David on Gears that said you can use masking tape to help the paint not to chick while drilling through it.
