I have replaced the steering coupler seal twice on my '72 Roadrunner. After a very short time the seal splits again! It appears that the seal is too small for the steering shaft. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't driven mine much with the new seal, but where are you getting them? Parts store or dealer? I got mine from the dealer.

Toss that old orange coupler seal in the trash. Get this from Steer and gear. Really nice part!

What is the diameter of that seal? My shaft measures .735". Thanks.

I have an extra one in my garage - I measure .63 or 5/8". It's rubberized plastic, same type of material as the orange one, it will stretch.

The last one I put one was indeed slightly tough to get over the shaft but once it's on, it ain't going anywhere. Just use some grease.

It's also WAAAAY easier to deal with than trying to get the stupid OE style seal and cage to stay on.
