Hi Guys, I am about to order rods/pistons & I am looking for some help on the best piston pin option.

Engine (Hemi), 7.100 (steel-Oliver) rods, 2.20 journal crank (crower) 4.500 stroke, 8.5:1 comp. supercharged < 20lbs. est hp <1500.

Options are .990 or 1.03 or? what is generally used or am I safe either way?

PS: Who is presently the best custom piston manufacturer? CP/JE?

cheers, thx for your help.

A good tool steel .990 pin is plenty for what your doing. both of the piston companies you mentioned can make what you need.
I use and sell Diamond Pistons for almost all of our custom pistons, especially the higher horsepower applications.

Amen. The 2.20 rod journal and the 0.990 pin have become the de facto standard for big blocks. Deviate from that at your own risk. You'll have a much harder time finding pistons, pins, etc if you go stock Mopar on either end.
