I am going to start my rod project this winter and am considering a cross steer type set up with a straight axle on my 1927 Dodge Bros. coupe. Rather than the original type of "drag link " steering ! Does anyone have pics of this type of set up on similar cars and what parts did you use for the steering box etc? Thanks in advance Matt

The most common cross steer is a Vega box.

The latest Street Rodder has a small rack that replaces the Vega box.

That seems like it could work real slick for what im doing !
I am putting in a low deck big block and a 4 speed so im no sure if i will have the room for it but im gonna try

I used the Unisteer on my 36 Plymouth. I works very well. Does not have the turning radius I would like. The rack need to be about two inches longer to get the full range on the 36. I had to make a bracket to mount their bracket on my frame. The Unisteer is made for the Ford frame which has no kickup. Good luck!~

I have been kinda checking things out on the coupe and it looks like steering isnt gonna be easy but when i get the mock up block and trans in i guess we will see !!
