I know you might think it is the pan, but I spent a lot of time trying to reseal a pan, blew through 3 or 4 gaskets and goop, only to find it was the shifter seal, or dip stick tube seal above the pan gasket, making it look like the pan gasket.

you might want to get a mirror and flashlight to look, or clean off the rail around the top and then feel for it the next day. just incase.

Same here, I chased and chased a leak with three different types of pan gaskets then two different stock pans and then the more capacity pan and it turned out to be the O-ring on the dipstick tube. I even replaced the seal on the shift post.

If it doesn't leak when it's running and only when it sits for a while then it's not the pan gasket.

Thanks guys. It is a stock factory pan. Leaks both when running and sitting. Leak is on the side opposite all the shifting linkage.
Will check the dip stick o ring.

If it is the O-ring, I got sick of fighting the leaks on mine and just cut the end off my tube and hosed the end of a GM tube on it. The one with the rubber bushing. Fits the tranny fine and ended the leaks.

Now my speedo cable mount is dripping.
