About ready to have a set of header flanges made for my heads. I'm attaching a photo and would like some feedback on the flanges. Plan on making them 3/8" and water cutting a set out of stainless. They should take a 1 7/8" tube.

Thanks for any advice, if all goes well I will cut a set in the next couple of weeks.

Steve

Are you making headers or trying to fit those TTI's?

I would try and make them wider between the bolts (more like on the tops and botoms ) so the pipes when welded into the flanges will not protrude into the exhaust flow I small narrow lip(bigger is better is what I have been told by most of the race headers makers I've talk to) between the head exhaust port and the header flange being bigger than the port is not a bad thing

I bought a set of flanges made from 1018 from hellsgatehotrods for less than I could make them..and I can make them. If you are going to ceramic coat them they would work as well as SS.

I can tell you that the area on top is more important
than what you have below the current port opening...
definitely use a 3/8 flange... I mill my own flanges
EDIT
And when you get done, cut the steel between the
outer ports and the 2 centers for growth so they
wont tend to leak

I quit making them for other people... the last set
of flanges I made were for a B1 head(except for the
set I made for my Rampage W-5 heads)... this is the
set I made for my W-9(sorry for the bad pic)

Rest of the combo is still TBD long term. Right now it's 11 to 1 with a mechanical cam, four speed, dana and just want something fun around on the street. In the future I will probably move to a stroker but the heads are OOTB right now with a little bowl blend from Jerry Arnold.

I'll keep you updated but it's not moving fast, I'm balancing this with hanging quarters, body work, .etc. If anyone wants the .dxf file for the flange, let me know. I'll give it to you so you can in theory take / send to a shop. I'm trading other stuff for some time on a CNC water jet and we'll see how it turns out.

PM sent.

I don't pay too much attention and appreciate any input. Either way though thanks for answering my initial question. Appreciate it.

Don't know if anyone is interested but I'm getting a quote from someone over on the bullet. Right now the pricing that he expects to pass along is not that much more than buying the stainless (for me). PM me if you want further details. He is sending out a large order of flanges next week and they will laser cut them in 3/8" stainless.
