Looking around the internet it looks like everyone sells the greatest product ever! Rust Bullet, POR 15, Bill Hersch Miracle Paint, et al.
Looking specifically for separate rust removers/dissolvers and Rust preventers/sealers, and not all in one products.
Homemade recipes also welcome. Did the vinegar, salt, lemon juice trick a while back for my motorcycle tank and was amazed at the results.
Looking to do a comparison for a professional archaeology paper in curating ferrous artifacts, using current technologies instead of standards that were published years ago without looking into materials auto enthusiasts use. Since our cars are essentially historic artifacts and don't get kept in climate control glass cases. I think we can teach them a thing or two.
Double posting in the restoration forum to get more eyes on it. Hope this is okay in this case mods.

I've just started using Evapo-rust. Seems to work as claimed, BUT, I have yet to use it on heavy rust. Here's a pic of an old humming bird feeder my Mom has that rusted. I disassembled it, and partially soaked the top so you could see a distinct 'before and after' comparison...

This carrier had light rust and surface rust. Soaked it for a day in Evapo Rust and it looked like new.

Hi All, I just got done with some bucket seat frame's. I used Molasses and water 5 to 1 they were in there for five days and came out with no signs of any rust. I then sprayed some Phosphoric Acid them to prevent flash rush till i got my ecth primer ready, then a quick wash down with water and prime.

That is pretty dramatic results. Can you tell me what kind/brand of molasses you used so I can try duplicating when it comes experiment time?
