trust me i'm NOT trying to be a smart a$$ but if you have to ask that question you need to enlist the help of an experienced engine builder. those bearings look terrible but at least you took it apart before it did it on it's own

J body, not a good analysis if you ask me. Not one metion of the word "timing" or "detonation" in all that, which looks like to OP's main trouble IMO. Also looks like the rod is "rocking".

That's true, but all I could find for the boy in a few seconds time.... and it does show some valid points in bearing failure.

...and it appears the bottom bearing shell has damage too. Maybe we'll get a pict of that one too.

No, there nasty. About as nasty as u can get before they turn to junk.
To many things to point too but dry startup and too much timing are good starting points lol

Scuff 'em with scotch brite and run em. Bunch of wimps on here. Vermotor, those are great, Definitely be putting them back in.

What's this pic of? I can't make it out? BTW, pretty sure it was a sarcastic question by the OP

I second that.

Not that they look super but was not going to lose a bearing.

Spend $400. And get some better rods recheck bearing clearance.

Clean clean clean that is your best friend in engine building .

Good luck with you project

I stick to my guns on this one. The top one is marginal but the next two pics show where the top coating is trying to smear and guall along with way to much detonation. I bet if you mic the top bearing its crushed from it. So no it would not be a good idea to reuse those in a hi performance motor.
The other set that Ted posted would be fine to put back in. I have scotchbrited and reused them when they come out looking like his. But the OP's are too far gone. So I still say he needs a set of new bearings and I would check the flatness of the crank and roundness of the rod before reassembly.

Then check your timing mark to make sure it's correct so you can keep the timing correct.
