wanna72rr OP super stock Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 934 Oviedo, Florida	My bearing went out on my 1972 Road Runner. Manual drum brakes. I replaced the bearings and races but the outside race spins in the hub. I take it that this is not good. They don't sell bearing hubs at a parts store that I can find. What years are the front wheel bearing hubs the same. I'll need to find one in a salvage yard I guess. Thoughts? Last edited by wanna72rr; 01/12/13 04:12 PM.

T Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 21,073 Niles , Ohio	Take the race out.Make sure you got the proper bearings first.If they are take a punch to the hub.Make some gouges in it not too deep.The race should go back in tight.Hubs you wont find at a parts store.There should be a good supply used being sold.Most change to disc fronts.The drums are staked to the hub also.Rocky Chrysler Firepower

The bearing on this hub disintigrated and must have warped the hub enought that the race doesn't seat. I just saw on the forums the 67 Barracuda junk yard car where they punched the bearing too. Wouldn't that be a temporary fix? Anyone know what hubs ar the same so I can look local for a hub at a salvage yard?

Use some of the 'glues' mentioned above if you want but I have never had a problem not using them.

71birdJ68 master 7 Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 4,454 Morristown Tn.	Two things, If those are 11 inch hubs/drums you can buy new ones. And none of the parts stores carry US made bearings, take the number from the race and the bearing and go to an industrial supply house and you can get US made timkens.
