Which would you buy? With a budget being an issue, stock 426 hemi heads ready to go or for $500 more get some new Mopar Performance heads. Either way I have to buy them. Are the new ones better being the stock ones are known to crack in the plug to valve area. Thanks

I've had lots of used heads aluminum and iron, got lucky a few times but ended up with junk a few times too. My last two builds I just bought new Stage V replacement heads, you're money ahead with new heads and the Stage V is a great quality casting that looks original as well.

The problem is money. I feel the Stage V's are the best but by the time you complete the ports, valve job etc. the price is higher. If budget is an issue for you complete mopar heads would be cheaper.

Stage V will sell you, or they use to, a set of heads ready to bolt on as long as you tell them which type of cam and the lift your going to run Thier heads are GREAT

The Stage Vs are a quality head but if your on a budget the Indy 426-SR for under $2000 and the 426-HiPo for under $2500 are great buys.

Wouldn't it be nice if Stage V would cast some new 65 heads? His castings are so beautiful.
