I have been looking for tires for a 17 inch rim that are equal to a 275/60/15 but for a 17 inch rim 28 inches tall and 10 inches wide is anyone running something like this?

Thanks

Hard to find, probably a 275/50-17 is a close as you'll find. There are some sizes for SUVs that may work. Check out tirerack.com or discounttire.com

Mag 500 17"...28" tall tire. Eagle RS-A 235/55 up front...255/55 on the rear. I could have put 275s if I had an extra inch on the backspacing but they were a custom order and it would have been dangerously close to my leaf spring

Any pics of the nittos? I was thinking of going this route as well. What tires do you have on the front?

Are you looking for your 71 B-body? Curious because I am shopping for tires for my 71 Charger. Since I want matching brand/tread on front and back I was leaning towards....

Nitto 450's
255/50/17 front on 17x8 (27.05 overall height) 4 1/2" backspace
275/50/17 rear on 17x9 (27.83 overall height) 5" backspace

puts it somewhat close to what a lot of people are running (height) in 15" tires.
235/60/15 front 26.10
275/60/15 rear 27.99

I figured the extra 1" height in the front would help with the "level" look. However I am NO expert! The main thing that worries me is putting such a wide tread on the front. Wonder how that is going to drive???

I bet you could run a 275/40/17 (25.75") in the front with 17x9 with 5" backspacing.

Might even be interesting to buy your rear tires and rims first. Then just put them on the front to see if they would fit.

I've got 17x8 wheels with 255/50/17 Riken Raptor tires all around on my 69 R/T vert, and I think it rides and drives good.

Any side shots? I know the 71 B-bodies have a larger wheel opening...but would still like to see the side profile.

255/50R17 is 27" tall, same height as a 255/60R15 or 205/75R15

Federal makes a 255/50/17 tire that's pretty good, and cheap too. lot of the dakota guys run them and like them.

Oops, forgot the 255/50/17 was 27" tall, you wanted 28.

there's a 275/50/17 that's a shade under 28" made by Falken, it's not too expensive.

There's some 255/55/17 tires from brands like Pirelli but you'll pay about twice as much to get that "exactly 28-inch tall tire"

Here's the side view, and yes, it is a 27" tire, not 28".

Here's a pic of my Challenger. Rims and tires are; American Racing Torq-Thrust II polished front 17x7, rear 17x8. Tires: Nitto NT 450 Extreme Performance 275/50R17 rear and Nitto 555 Extreme 235/45ZR17 front. Fit is great all the way around, probably could have run 245s up front.

WOW!!!! You all are great you have given me alot of brands I did not know of! thank you all and keep them comming I really appreciate it!

I'm just trying to stay as close to my current size overall so my stance and all does not change.

Currentlly 275/60/15 rear and 245/60/15 front and I want to keep the same brand and tread front to rear.

Thanks again!
