Anybody know how much Ray Barton chargers for his 426 hemi rods? Have a chance to buy a partial set but may need to buy one or two more. No call back today from them.

i seriously doubt barton makes rods though they may have them speced. there are plenty of quality rod manufactures out there and one of them probably supplies barton. if you have the dimensions and specifications i'm sure they can supply you what you need

We determined the ones in my motor are sourced from Manley.

The reason I'm asking, what is a fair price for the 6 used rods with Ray Barton's name on them? I will have to buy two additional, so I need some kind of baseline on price. They appear to be 6.86,big wrist pin and I beam design. Will check before buying. This is why I need to know cost for two more to complete the set.Any help appreciated.

Manley changed to a differant style forging, the Ray Barton style is no longer available and the weight differance is significant. I just went thru this.

Race rods are disposable items for a reason.
Buying a partial set out of a motor that banged is a real crap shoot.
I think they'd be fine in a lower h.p. application in most cases , but I'd be reluctant to pay a bunch for them.
And I'd have them thoroughly checked out before I ever considered using them.
But that you are buying Hemi rods tells me you are building a Hemi.....not much cheap in that deal.
And where you save can become very expensive.
Just sayin......

I bought a set of H baem rods from Ray Barton once, and they had Ray Barton stamped on one side and Manley on the other side.

The guy give me the 6 rods for $150, they almost look new. But will have them checked out. Hopefully can find two more to match.

I know Barton has used Manley, Oliver and K1 rods, all in 7.100, depending on date and build type.Could be any. Manleys were earlier on.

I fell into that trap. Long story short they don't make those rods any longer and barton sold me 2 used rods that ended up being .020 too short.

Still haven't used them because I am scared to. I would walk right on by today.

OH and by the way the ONLY way to get them to look for 2 used rods is to stand in his shop. Forget the phone
