Have any of you guys noticed this before.

I replaced my original rusted/pitted exterior door handles with
the chrome repro handles (chrome buttons).

Now when I go to use them the buttons rattle.
I noticed before connecting the linkage, the buttons didnt' rattle
because they are spring loaded..

But you have to engage the handle slightly to
connect the linkage from the door handle down to the latch.
Doing so, unloads the spring now just enough to cause
the buttons to rattle..

You guys experience this?

FWIW, I had to use the ball/spring mechanism from my old handles
because the new handles didn't come with the ball spring plate,
they came with the new style that uses plastic clip.
Mine are the old ball/metal clip type...

Any help/feedback appreciated - thanks!

do the buttons have the rubber o-ring? And I have also seen a spring on the rod on the back of the button.

Are these chrysler boxed repops , which are the same as 70's pickups , or new aftermarket ?

what year is your B-body?.
the genaric handles from mopar have the clip style for the rod,fit the AB and trucks but are wrong.
there are actually 4 different handle configurations for the 68-70
B Body and these do come with the plate and ball attached. difference between the handles are which direction the ball is pressed
to fit the rod

Did you adjust the length by putting a Allen wrench into the hole right next to the latch on the door backside?

Its a 70 Coronet 2 door hardtop.
I bought them off of ebay around 2004.

They came with a plastic clip mechanism that didn't match
the ball/metal clip mechanism in the car.
So I had to remove (1 screw)the mechanisms from my old handle
and replace it on the new ones..
When I try to connect the ball/clip mechanism to the linkage on the latch,
I have to depress the button very very slightly...
This is what causes the rattling..
The button is no longer spring loaded.

The rubber o-rings are installed around the button
and are not damaged or broken....

It sounds like I have the wrong door handles..
Wouldn't surprise me...
conned by yet another web re-seller huh....

I tried to adjust via the allen screw..it does not good.
the button still rattles because the arm is a hair short.

Its the factory mechanism, clip, arm and latch.
But a repro door handle....

Does anyone else experience this?

I had in the past but was able to adjust out.
The only thing you can do is elongate one hole in the bar that goes from the handle to the latch to effectively make the distance between the holes longer on the bar.

OR:
Sell off those handles and get a current pair from BE+A.
