228 passes in the race car, plus 6 in my truck. I missed the first 5 races (times two classes, total of 10 races) due to knee surgery. I couldn't climb in & out of my race car, so I tried to compete im my truck. That was a total failure.
Won two races, RU in another. OK year.

The usual. About 100+- in two cars. Dont race much outside of divisional stuff anymore.

2012 was our year to get back out after parking the car in 08. Started our year off in Bakersfield for the March Meet where we made four test runs, and four rounds of eliminations. Every hit except the run where I went out had pretty much the same 60ft time....car was killer, and then two weeks later I hauled to MaTS so it could be delivered to it's new owner. Didn't see that coming, but it was a good 28 year run.

I made 155 passes this year, 13 finals with 9 wins; I tied my best for wins in a season. Even better only three first round losses all year, that is important when you chase points. But the best I won the Outlaw Street track Championship for the 2nd year in a row at Beaver Springs Dragway, this year leading wire-to-wire.

I had about 25 total for the year, which for my street/strip car. I think is a lot. If I keep going down this route. I might need to start taking thismore serious.

One trip this fall 1/8 mile with the 4 speed 69 Dart - A couple of 8.30s and an 8.20ish. Bad 60 ft of around 2.0. My cheapo front drag shocks and rear air shocks with super stock springs ain't doing it ! Ideas encouraged about hooking up with super stock springs. I do have front Konis to try back on there. Happy New Year !!!

Your NEVER gonna 60' with junk shocks... air shocks
are the WORST thing you want with any SS spring
(any spring for that matter)

I run Super Stock springs with cheap Monroematic shocks made for a Dodge D150 pickup on the back. 1.71 60 foot so far. Maybe try some of these shocks, they are cheap enough to be worth a try to get rid of those air shocks.

I've run the car with the Mopar 4 speed long shocks - probably 1.80s. I hit a best of 1.78 or so with the Koni fronts and air shocks in the back. I was trying Summit white front shocks to settle down the handling, which it did but they don't rise as much as the Konis. I had switched from bias ply to radial front tires which helped the handling so I can probably go back to a more aggressive front drag shock. I have been home porting and tweaking a little on my old cast crank 340 and the power is up some. But the 60 ft is at an all time worst. LOL. I had set aside some gas shocks from my 1500 truck in case that might work. I didn't know if they would fit on there just right. It might be fun to try them also. Something easily adjustable like a QA1 would be nice on rear to tune easily. Oh,one more thing : I have new slicks on there, the same as I had used before ( 9 x 28 MT same compound ). Anyway, thanks, and back to our regularly scheduled program !

With your port work your (most likely) making more
power and when you make more power the shocks are even
a BIGGER factor... for some reason people tend to think
as soon as I make more power I will get a better 60'...
well that works backwards(you just spin longer)..
the QA-1s are a decent shock for the money... I run
the OLD 12 way QA-1s and am very happy... also get
a quality set of front shocks... if your Koni's are
adjustable.. try them

I would guess 75 or so...I was out 9 times. Only ran it all out 4 times...it needs an anti-roll big time Got my 8 sec slip and there is plenty more left. I will be running IHRA Div 1 S/R with a vengence this year for sure..
