I'm starting on my new project 37 plymouth slantback and need some info on where and who to get a disc brake conversion for the front and where to get weather striping,window rubbers ect. thanks RJ

I doubt you will find a disc brake setup for that car. You may be able to retro-fit something or go to a Mustang II front end.

There are in-fact, disc brake conversion set ups available for your car. Butch's Rod shop was one of the better known sources but there may be others too.

great info guys thank you. I found this car not 10 min from my house and the body is in very good shape. I installed a 225 slant six with a 727 auto and a E body 8 3/4 with 323 suregrip. have a ways to go but a blast to build. thanks again RJ

Roberts Motor Parts is a great source for weatherstripping and some other stuff. Its nice to buy stuff from someone that knows what your working on.

Disc brake conversion from www.rustyhope.com if a kit for you car is not listed, Charlie may still have one, or he will make one for you. You buy the brackets and the machined bushing and he provides instructions and a parts list you source out yourself.

I had a 35 Dodge slant back 2 door sedan. After owning one without a trunk lid, I would have sprung for the extra money for a car with a trunk lid, if I was ordering a car new back then. Though there is storage behind the rear seat, it is limited and you have to access it through the back seat. The slant back sedans look a lot better then the hump back cars with a trunk lid, but the hump back lids are a lot more functional. Gene

my plan with the car is to build a fun driver out of it. newer drive train but leave the out side alone. just do what it needs lights,weather strip ect but no paint. I have never done one like this and its fun. maybe someday I might want to do the body and paint but not now. thanks for all the positive in put guys.

any 37/38 dodge, plymouth, or desoto i have parted out had a tube axle, as well as my 33 humpback, although it was a slightly different shape. i have seen chryslers that had a tube axle also, so
