Here's a couple of pics of my 69 Satellite, unmolested original paint. Check out the placement of the tire pressure decal. I just realized today while I was snapping some photos that it was installed upside down. I'll post a couple more pics of marking etc for fun also

Here's a pic of the poor paint coverage by the pass fender/hood latch support area

Wasn't much better in '67 either (inner fender alignment).

How about this: my 1968 Charger's floorpan wasn't even welded to the firewall panel.
It was stuffed with seam sealer.

I love this thread. The survivor 71' Duster 340 on EBAY a week ago showed the bottoms of the doors barely had any paint on them, no wonder these cars rusted out so quick..

gregsrt: Seeing how original your car is, have you decided to leave it alone for awhile? I remember you had plans for a colour change etc.

That decal is perfectly normal. It's supposed to be like that. That way you can stand next to it and bend down and read it easier while your head is upside down.

Also, on my 67 Coronet, the rear inner trunk panel isn't welded to the angled supports on the floor. The supports have a weld on them and melted metal on top, they just aren't welded to anything. lol.

I think '77 wasn't a banner year, either. My Aspen has a goober of seam sealer on the driver's door frame that was never caught. "Yeah, it's fine" :

The yellow is starting to grow on me. I'm thinking of painting the exterior and eng comp but leaving the door jambs and trunk alone. Not to keen on the green top though. I've got lots of time to think about it, supposed to be getting laid off next month

The yellow and green combo is kinda cool! Way better than the cookie cutter B5/black everyone else is doing to death. Sorry to hear about the layoff deal, at least a little advance warning helps. It sucks even worse for those that show up for work to find out there isn't any. Any way you slice it though, it sucks.
