i remember reading a post awhile back where a few members said that running a mvb with lba it cost them some et around a tenth from what i remember.i am considering upgrading to a trans brake(griner)and was wondering whether to do lba or not.i understand the safety aspect of the lba but just curious if its gonna cost me some et.what do you guys think?btw im currently running a TA RMVB no lba

The Griner LBA transbrake has extra large fluid passages, so I doubt you will lose any ET using the low band apply model. Cheetah tranzbrake uses the stock casting, but it has a timed released low band feature, meaning the low band is applied at launch, but it is released prior to the 1-2 shift. Overall, you will be happier with the Griner VB, especially running a .400 tree.

i went with the A&A LBA brake with safe neutral after hearing about solenoid issues with the Grinner. that A&A brake is awesome. Cope don't sell Grinner anymore, just the A&A so there must be something in it.

thx guys thats funny about the griner issue i had the same problem years back with my A+Abrake in had in a superbee.makes me reconsider running a brake period this is a street car also loosing reverse when the solenoid quits is a pain in the a$$.what about a griner lba VB without brake?any advantage besides the safety point of view?

The Griner RMVB non-transbrake is again superior to others. Although it uses the stock OEM casting, the oil circuit volumes are increased as well as the third gear check ball diameter. The pressure regulator is also vastly improved. P/N 22G05B.

Maybe Mr. Griner is just hard to get along with. That is why you buy from a distributor not the manufacturer. Same with Indy...

I love my Griner valve bodies. Both are LBA, footbrake. Been running this for 12 years. One in my primary transmission, and one in my spare.

There is no way a LBA feature would take a tenth of an ET. Think of the crazy overlap you'd have between the low/2nd bands being applied for a full TENTH to slow a car down that much.

I have a LBA transbrake from Tranzact in my car. So far it's been flawless.

Well i spoke with a griner distributor this morn and he did admit that it does cost some ET thats why they offer a brake without LBA for the guy looking for every little bit he can get.Now a tenth im not sure but i wish i could remember the original posters post i was talking about because im sure he said it was about a tenth over a TA cheeta non-lba VB but not sure what LBA VB he was comparing it to maybe there not all the same.
