The Griner LBA transbrake has extra large fluid passages, so I doubt you will lose any ET using the low band apply model. Cheetah tranzbrake uses the stock casting, but it has a timed released low band feature, meaning the low band is applied at launch, but it is released prior to the 1-2 shift. Overall, you will be happier with the Griner VB, especially running a .400 tree.

The Griner RMVB non-transbrake is again superior to others. Although it uses the stock OEM casting, the oil circuit volumes are increased as well as the third gear check ball diameter. The pressure regulator is also vastly improved. P/N 22G05B. www.727specialist.comJohn

i went with the A&A LBA brake with safe neutral after hearing about solenoid issues with the Grinner. that A&A brake is awesome. Cope don't sell Grinner anymore, just the A&A so there must be something in it.
Maybe Mr. Griner is just hard to get along with. That is why you buy from a distributor not the manufacturer. Same with Indy...
I love my Griner valve bodies. Both are LBA, footbrake. Been running this for 12 years. One in my primary transmission, and one in my spare.
