I'm contemplating a new carb this winter. I've been running an older 830 cfm "race" series carb, list #4788-1. I'm contemplating a Holley Street-HP 950 (#82951). What would you guys look to as the best option for my car? -451 low deck @ 10.3:1 -RPM manifold -Stealth heads -252* / .573 lift solid FT cam -1-7/8" headers -Primarily street driven, with 3 or 4 trips to the track per year.

4781 DP ought to work well...
IM experince the idle circuit on a 950HP is super fat, on a motor similar to yours. But, Dwayne did tell me that the Street HP carbs do have a lot cleaner idle circuit, more suited to a BB Mope.

The 4788 is a downleg booster carb. I run 3.91's with 27-1/2" tall tires and a 9-1/2" Dynamic converter.
If you guys think I won't gain anything over the the 830, then I can find somewhere else to spend the money. I just figured it would go a little faster with the bigger carb, and the street HP version should offer good street manners (??).

I would think that engine could use one of the new Holley 950... from what I've heard they flow real good.... the new 850 would be another choice
