Can you use regular 8 3/4 car ends on a Truck Dana 60 housing? I believe the tube diameters are different. Will it cause a welding issue? Or should I purchase a new pair of housing ends to weld on?

I've done it with 8-3/4 axles. You have to check which spline

you have in the Dana though.

He's referring to the axle flange from what I gather. I think he wants to cut it off an 8.75 and weld to a D60 truck axle to make if 5lug. Almost sound easier to just get new flange I would think

New ends are cheap and you don't have to carefully clean them up.

I've used truck Danas and welded on new ends to make them 5 lug before. It works out fine. The only difference I know of is there is no pad for a pinion snubber on the truck rear.

Make sure you have the 3" dia. dana tube. Heavy trucks used a 3.5" tube

There is also a 4" tube used on some duallys. Dutchman will narrow and weld on the new billet ends for 385 shipped. Tim

That may be because dually's typically use a Dana 70 or 80 depending on the year.

Many of the truck housings have 3/8" thick 3.125" diameter axle tubes...which are perfectly fine to use.....also, a set of 8-3/4" ends work fine and are only about $80.
