My friends got locked out of their 2013 Chrysler Town & Country last night, when the husband got in, pushed the "START" button, then stepped out and somehow hit the "LOCK" button on the door before closing. The van was running, and both sets of fobs where inside...? Is this a common problem or is he just a fool?
He called me for help, but I was out of town and no where near able to provide assistance. He called the Chrysler 1-800 number and they sent out Roadside Assistance and got the door open for them. Any advise I can give them to avoid this again? None of my newer rides have the keyless start, so I'm not sure how those vehicles differ from mine...? On my 11 Ram, 12 Jeep, etc, if the key is in the ignition (not running) the doors won't lock with the door switch, but there is no key on the 13 Chrysler and it was running, so...? I haven't looked closely at theirs anyway, do they still have a key slot on the driver's door, and can a dealer make you a physical key to open the driver's door if this were to happen again?
